Road Angel Compact Review, 13th Sept 05
This latest product from Blackspot Interactive is sure to be popular. Why? The previous model (New Road Angel 2) was a top-seller, and this one, with more features and yet still remaining simple to use and handle, is even better.
Smaller than its predecessor, the Road Angel Compact still has the same good looks, but in a smaller package at only 4 wide by 3 deep. It still has a large LCD display, which flashes red at danger zones, and the same voice (Tiff Needel.)
What Road Angels up to now have been lacking is speed limit alerts, but on this new unit this has been rectified, with limits now given at the camera sites. On alert, the display shows your speed, along with an icon showing the type of hazard which alternates with the limit. The voice is backed up with bleeps.
New to the Compact is a special plug-in optional laser sensor, so if there is any change in the legality of laser sensing this can be completely removed rather than just switched off.

- USB power lead, not easy to hardwire!
