At first glance this unit is identical to the Navigator 6000 on closer inspection you see the water resistant caps covering the USB and SD slots. This unit is weatherproof which makes it a good choice for those with motorcycles or with the Memory Map Ordnance Survey Maps upgrade ideal for walkers.
The Navigator has the major routes of western europe included on its mapping card, Motorways and A roads, which the faster processor can support. This improved hardware enables the running of the whole of western Europe to street level with the purchase of an additional SD card, the Navigator 6000 can only support individual countries. Destinations are easily programmed either in the UK or across Europe but you may need to check your spelling i.e Rome is Roma.
Again the only potentially negative aspect is the menu system which you do get used to.
